This is typically a 3.75-hour course which includes both theory and practical training. This course is ideal for those candidates who have previous experience at operating a forklift truck but have no certification or if their certificate is over 5 years old.
After training has been completed, you will need to complete three tests; a theory test, a pre-use inspection test and finally the practical skills test. Each one of these tests needs to be passed in order to obtain your operator card and certificate. Upon completion of this course, students will be added to the ITSSAR TOP scheme.
Course length could be shortened if the course is not booked at full capacity.

A1 Pallet Truck Course Details
What is a powered pallet truck?
A Powered pallet truck or electric pallet mover is a piece of equipment that is used to move pallets at ground level, as well as loading and offloading pallets from various vehicles. A common place you’ll see people working with powered pallet trucks would be in a warehouse environment.
Locations
This course is available for you to complete at all of our training depots which includes locations in Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading and Worthing.
We are able to offer this training at one of your sites, using your equipment which will allow your staff to train on the equipment that they will be using regularly. The areas we cover for training on one of your sites include; Portsmouth, Chichester, Fareham, Southampton, Romsey, Eastleigh, Reading, Crawley, Newbury, Basingstoke, Worthing and Brighton.
Facilities Required on your site
Before training can be completed on one of your sites, using your equipment, there are a number of requirements that you need to meet. You will need to have a training room that is suitable for the number of students participating and a sufficient amount of practical training space to complete assessments & testing. Also, delegates are required to wear PPE as per the company’s internal risk assessments.

Instructors
If you chose to complete one of our A1 Exp. Operator Pallet Truck training courses, you will be taught by highly experienced professionals, who will give you all the skills and knowledge that you need to pass your Powered Pallet Truck test.
2 Start Training is a Category 3 Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR) accredited training centre for operator and instructor training for Powered Pallet Truck Training.
Duration
The length of your A1 Exp. Operator Pallet Truck training course will vary depending on which of our courses you decide to complete, if you decide to complete the A1 Experienced Operator Pallet Truck course, training will take 1-day to complete.
Course length could be adjusted depending on how many other students are on the same course, see below for timescales.
2 Days if 1:1 or 2:1 with our instructor.
3 Days if 3:1 with our instructor.
Ratio
1 Truck : 3 Candidates : 1 Instructor
This ratio can be lowered to suit any requirements which can decrease the duration of your course.
