Forklift Instructors Course ITSSAR / Re-Registration
As an already qualified forklift truck instructor/examiner you must refresh your qualification every 5 years. You will join the back end of a 10 day course and will be familiarised on the principles of forklift truck operation, safety and training. Extensive coverage includes roles of the instructor, learning methods, principles of instruction, lesson types and plans, classroom and training aids, along with assessments and reporting, skills testing and ongoing assessment. Each student must have an existing instructors qualification available to be presented on the first day of the course.

Forklift Instructors Course ITSSAR
Become a qualified forklift truck instructor/examiner in 10 Days. On completion of the course you will understand the principles of forklift truck operation, safety and training. Extensive coverage includes roles of the instructor, learning methods, principles of instruction, lesson types and plans, classroom and training aids, along with assessments and reporting, skills testing and ongoing assessment. Each student must have at least 1 years operating experience with evidence of this and an operators certificate issued within 6 months.
Forklift Instructors Course Objectives
To train delegates with proven operating ability on specific types of machine in the methods and techniques required for the qualified instruction, training, assessment and certification of lift truck operators, in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the Health & Safety Commission (HSC) Approved Code of Practice and Supplementary Guidance “Rider Operated Lift Trucks – Operator Training” (COP26).
Experience required
At least 12 months operating experience and a retest within 6 months of attending the instructor’s course. Delegates must have the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs of different trainees, be able to communicate effectively and be able to lead and control a group. This course is highly participative; delegates will be expected to take part in all activities as the award of qualification is based mainly on assessed performance.
Accreditation, Registration and Certification
Successful delegates are registered and certificated on the ITSSAR National Register of Accredited Instructors (as applicable) and are also entered on the Register of Approved FLT Instructors / Examiners.
Delegate Status
Delegates attending this course must be experienced and qualified operators of the types of machines on which they will be required to give instruction. They should also meet the relevant recommended medical requirements and have proven themselves to be mature and reliable, with the desire to teach others. ITSSAR require that delegates must have passed a refresher test to national standards within the 12 months preceding the course.
Assessments and Monitoring
Delegates are continuously assessed during their training and each course is externally monitored at random by a qualified Training Advisor from ITSSAR.

This course is available at our Portsmouth, Southampton and Reading training centres.
