- Exam day is Tuesday 3rd June 2025 for those staring the course on Tuesday 20th May 2025.

Applicants for a Standard “O” Operators Licence must prove that they are ‘professionally competent’, or that they employ a transport manager who meets the requirements. Persons will be considered ‘professionally competent’ by passing the Chartered Institute for Logistics & Transport qualification. The exam structure comprises of:
- 2 hour multi-format response (multiple choice, inputting missing information and indicating answers on a diagram if relevant) exam with 40 questions requiring a 70% pass mark
- 2¼ hour case study exam with 3 case study questions with a total of 20 marks available for each which will require a 50% pass mark. Both exams can contain questions from most areas of the syllabus.

National and International Combined CPC Qualification
The revision day is set out exactly the same as the actual exams. You will have an opportunity to complete previous test papers and then go through the answers to highlight areas where extra revising could be necessary. For candidates studying for the Chartered Institute for Logistics & Transport qualification the exam structure comprises of one 2 hour multi-format response (multiple choice, inputting missing information and indicating answers on a diagram if relevant) exam with 40 questions requiring a 70% pass mark and one 2¼ hour case study exam with 3 case study questions with a total of 20 marks available for each which will require a 50% pass mark. Both exams can contain questions from most areas of the syllabus. If you have completed all the relevant Transport Manager road haulage training, but need to take the tests, you can book either the multiple choice or case study exams.
The Case study exam structure consists of:
- 2¼ hour case study exam with 3 case study questions with a total of 20 marks available for each which will require a 50% pass mark.
The multiple choice exam structure consists of:
- 2 hour multi-format response (multiple choice, inputting missing information and indicating answers on a diagram if relevant) exam with 40 questions requiring a 70% pass mark.
If either Paper 1 or Paper 2 is not achieved in one sitting a resit for that Paper only will be required.
