Course Requirements
Our Core, Packages & Tanks training is for individuals who have no previous certification or experience with the carriage or dangerous goods in packages or tanks. We also offer refresher training as a option for those who already have the relevant ADR certification, but is about to expire.
Ongoing Requirements
To keep your vocational certification valid, you must complete refresher training of the modules you covered. This refresher training is completed every five years, and your certification must be at least 12 weeks before your licence expiration date.
Test Requirements
You will be expected to complete a test covering the modules outline through your course. These exams are completed on a computer, and are multiple-choice based. You must pass each test to be awarded the full certification.
Further Training
Refresher training is required every five years to keep your certification in date.
Although, there are other job opportunities related to other ADR training courses we offer.
The first is training for ADR specialist Class 1 (Explosives) or Class 7 (Radioactive Materials). These can enhance your knowledge of dangerous goods by honing in on more specialist dangerous goods.
Also, you could further your skills and become a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA). Thus, significantly increasing your earning potential.

Who is this course for?
Those who are looking to handle, package, manoeuvre or transport hazardous goods by road will benefit from doing this course. As you will learn about the ADR classes (excluding specialist classes 1 & 7) you will have the knowledge for:
- Class 2- Gases
- Class 3- Flammable Liquids
- Class 4- Flammable Solids
- Class 5- Oxidising Agents
- Class 6- Toxics
- Class 8- Corrosives
- Class 9- Miscellaneous
So, if you need training for all these classes, then this course is best fit.
Alternatively, if you are only going to be handling one type of dangerous goods (such as if you are a tanker driver only handling flammable liquids) then you would be best fit for our Core, Packages, Tanks & Required Class course.
What can I drive with the Core, Packages & Tanks Certification?
Those who complete ADR training for tanks will drive Heavy Goods Vehicle (Class 1 or Class 2) tankers, or Heavy Goods Vehicles carrying Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC’s). Completing ADR training for packages will allow you to handle and move dangerous goods in packages. This will be relevant to ADR classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9. If you only need to complete one dangerous good class, then you may want to complete our Core, Packages, Tanks & Required Class course.
Your ADR certification doesn’t permit you to drive or operate any type of machinery or vehicle. If you are required to transport the hazardous goods by road, then look at booking one of our HGV Training courses.
What will you receive upon successful completion of the course?
Once you pass all the training and tests, you will be awarded your ADR certificate which specifies what type of dangerous goods class you have completed training & testing for, including if you are certified for ADR in tanks and/or packages. This will also give you the certification for classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, & 9.
