Overhead Gantry training is completed at your location with your equipment. We offer either Novice or Refresher training with one of our accredited and experienced instructors, who will come to your site and train your team. We offer both remote and pendant training for overhead gantry.
Costs start from £450, and it is dependent on the travel time & location, how many students and what training type.

- Operating a crane safely in accordance with the manufacturers handbook and demonstrate knowledge of the concepts set out in the Approved Codes of Practice
- Demonstrate a competent understanding of the crane’s controls and proper use of the lifting tackle

- Use appropriate crane signals and communications
- Types of lifting tackle and their applications
- Methods of lifting as well as an appreciation for the angles of a lift

Course Requirements
The course will teach you how to safely and efficiently operate an Overhead Gantry Crane and to efficiently sling and transport loads.
By the end of your Overhead Gantry Course, you should be able to:
- Identify major components of the gantry crane and describe their function
- Demonstrate how to operate the gantry crane and sling, transport and deposit loads
- Answer questions on safety and operating procedures
Appropriate PPE is required to complete your training and testing.
Ongoing Requirements
Our Overhead Gantry training is accredited by the Independent Training Standards Scheme & Register (ITSSAR). So, once you complete this course, you will be added to the Training Operator Passport (TOPs) scheme.
Test Requirements
There are three stages to the testing requirements:
- Theory test- consisting of 25 questions
- Pre-shift inspection test
- Practical operators skills test
You must pass all three tests to be awarded your certificate of completion.
Further Training
Refresher training is required to keep your knowledge valid and in date. You should look to complete this every 3-5 years to remain compliant.
