Course Requirements
You don’t need any previous experience to complete our novice Slinger Signaller training. If you need to complete our refresher course, then you will be asked to produce your current certificate so that you can complete this level of training.
Ongoing Requirements
To keep your Slinger Signaller certification valid, you must complete our refresher course every five years. This will keep your knowledge up to date and relevant to any changes.
Test Requirements
Your training will consist of two theory assessments and a practical test, conducted by your ALLMI accredited instructor.
The theory tests will consist of multiple choice and open questions. The practical tests will test your practical skills and duties as a slinger signaller, helping your instructor determine whether you have retained the skills to safely perform the responsibilities of this role.
Further Training
Additional training will include completing refresher courses every five years at least. This will keep your knowledge up to date and ensure that you are still conducting the correct signals for the operator. You can also complete Lorry Loader training for the Brick Grab, Hook and/or Clamshell attachments.

Anyone who will be aiding operators with the safe lifting and movement of loads will need to complete this form of training. This is also a great course to upskill in your current role as a Lorry Loader operator.

Once you complete this course, you will receive an ALLMI certificate which shows that you have completed the Slinger Signaller course. You can also request an operators card at an additional cost.
This certification is valid for 5 years, and you will need to complete the Slinger Signaller refresher training once your certification expires.
