Towers on Stairs training provides students the knowledge and understanding on how to safely assemble towers on stairs and complete work safely. You must currently hold a “Towers for Users” photocard if you want to complete this course, as well as have a good level of knowledge of working at heights.

- Standards which effect the manufacture and use of stairway towers
- When it’s safe and not safe to use a tower on stairs
- Carrying out pre-use checks and inspections on towers
- The components used in a stairway tower
- Assembling and dismantling a stairway tower using approved methods
- Good practices for the safe use of stairway towers including how to access the platform safely and appropriately
- Moving a stairway tower
- Identifying hazards in the work environment as well as avoiding personal health hazards

Course Requirements
Before completing this course, you must show that you have a valid PASMA Towers For Users certification. You must bring the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the day of your training.
Ongoing Requirements
Training is necessary every 5 years to keep your PASMA certification in date. Although it is not a legal requirement, it is a standard which many employers will look for.
Test Requirements
Two tests must be completed.
The first is a theory test, in which you must get 80% correct to pass.
You will also have a practical assessment, in which you will be tested on your abilities to safely assemble, and operate on a tower placed within a stairway.
Further Training
As said prior, training must be completed to keep your certification in date, every five years from the date of obtaining your certificate. You can also train for other types of PASMA equipment, such as Low-Level Access or Towers For Managers.
If you will be transporting your own scaffolding towers, you may want to also obtain your Category C1 licence.

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who is going to be completing work on stairways and require towers. From painting and decorating, to repairs, installations and maintenance work. You must already hold an in-date Towers for Users certification before completing this course.
What can I use my PASMA Certification for?
This certification is permitted only to the work on stairways, which will show as “A5” on your PASMA operator card.
What will you receive upon successful completion of this course?
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded your PASMA Towers on Stairs digital certification. You can request a paper certificate and operator card at an additional cost.
