Course Requirements
This is a theory revision package for Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) such as a minibus. If you are not going to operate for hire or reward, you only need to complete the multiple-choice and hazard perception tests. However, if you will be operating an PCV for profit, then you must also complete the Module 2 CPC case study test. This is a revision package only, so you will need to ensure your theory tests are booked, either by us as a part of your training package, or by yourself.
Ongoing Requirements
Once you pass the multiple choice, hazard perception and/or the Module 2 CPC theory tests, you will then need to complete the rest of your PCV (Minibus) driver training within 2 years of passing the theory. Failure to pass your 3a & 3b within this two-year time frame will make your theory pass null, and you will have to complete this again.
Test Requirements
Our theory revision will prepare you for the theory tests. Depending on whether you are planning to drive for hire or reward, you will complete the multiple-choice, hazard perception, and the mod 2 CPC theory tests. You have to book all three of these separately, but you can take them all on the same day if you wish.
Multiple Choice
The first is the multiple choice, where you must answer 100 multiple-choice based questions about driving a PCV, and you have 1 hour 55 minutes to complete this. The pass mark is 85 out of 100 questions.
Hazard Perception
The next is the hazard perception. This consists of 19 video clips; each will have a “developing hazard” (one of these clips will have 2 hazards). You can score up to 5 points for each video. The pass mark is 67 out of 100.
Module 2 CPC
The Module 2 CPC test is case study based. These consist of scenarios and stories which you could encounter in your PCV career. There are 7 case studies, with 6-8 multiple-choice questions in each. The test lasts 1 hour 15 minutes and the pass mark is 40 out of 50.
Further Training
Further training includes completing your practical training and tests of your PCV Training journey. This will be your practical driver training for the off-road and on-road exercises.
If you are planning to drive professionally, you will also need to complete your Module 4 of the initial Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training.
What will you receive upon successful completion of this course?
This is a revision-based product only, so you will not receive anything. Although, the more you revise, the chance of you passing your PCV theory tests increase.
Who is this course for?
Anyone who has booked their PCV theory tests should complete a substantial level of revision to increase their confidence and the chance of them passing. PCV includes Category D1 Minibus & D1+E Minibus and Trailer.
